Vocational Training Center – MSA
Muni Seva Ashram’s Vocational Training Centre is yet another example of Public-Private-Partnership with Development Support Agency of Gujarat Government “To improve socio-economic conditions through increase in net income of tribal families in Gujarat, by providing high-quality employment-oriented / vocational training, soft skills and employment assistance to the tribal youth who cannot pursue college education.”
DSAG provides partial reimbursement of recurring expenses for vocation training for tribal youth and MSA covers the rest through the donors support. As a part of “Save the girl child” and “woman empowerment” initiatives, 80% of our students are girls.
The 1st batch of Laboratory Assistant course with 22 students was launched on June 11th, 2011 and since then, the centre has trained more than 2000 tribal students mainly in healthcare such as Dialysis, OT, Laboratory, pharmacy and Bedside Assistant. These modular courses are of 3-6 months duration.
In 2019 MSA obtained the accreditation from Skill-India under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY) scheme to support train & find employment for unemployed Indian youth. Thus MSA became an accredited Training Partner.
Mission
The Mission of the Vocational Training Center (VTC) is “Nation-building by improving socio-economic conditions of the underprivileged youth through an increase in their net income, created by providing high-quality, employment-oriented vocational training, soft skills, and employment assistance.”
To enhance the competence and marketability of the India’s youth through employment – oriented technical skill development leading to employment and income doubling of rural families
MSA – VTC incorporates value-bas 27ied education, life skills training, personality development, and extracurricular activities, like daily yoga, which will enhance the confidence levels of the low-socioeconomic class and rural youth through technical skill development leading to their employment.
Employment is priority. Meeting needs of employers is critical.
MSA VTC promised to give assistance for employment with a good salary to each and every student after completion of their training. Our placement ratio is ~80%. We also do hand holding of each and every student for a year and they are free to contact us for any kind of assistance/help anytime.
Vision
VTC aims to educate and train rural youth to impart skills and help them find employment. It meets market demand while improving the socio-economic condition of the population. VTC is thus contributing to

Statistics
Past Statistics (since 2011):- The graph illustrates the number of males and females trained in MSA VTC from 2011 to 2020.
- Enrollment has been increasing 18% year-on-year.
- In 2019-20 MSA VTC trained & found employment for 417 students. This is the highest ever for the VTC.
- VTC had closed enrollment for boys during 2014-18. Once enrollment opened up in 2018, it jumped to 100+ in two years. This indicates a pent-up demand for boys for skills training.
Enrollment by month of the year
- VTC launches a new batch every 2 months.
- Enrollment is the highest during May-August when high-school students have just completed their exams and are looking for a career-defining vocation.
- Overall we can see enrollment gradually tapers down from September through April.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)
Under this Scheme, Training and Assessment fees are paid by the Government thus providing free education to India’s youth.
D-SAG
Under the auspices of Shri Narendra Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Van Bandhu Kalyan Yojana was launched for the development of the Tribal Population of Gujarat. This programme aims at creating an enabling environment for need based and outcome oriented holistic development of the tribal people, ensuring very high quality of social and civil infrastructure and sustainable employment such that the income of every tribal family doubles.
To support this effort, MSA entered into a PPP agreement with DSAG to start a Vocational Training Centre (VTC). DSAG & MSA VTC Signed ToR on 11th January 2011 to start the training under the various sectors like Health Care, Industrial & Agriculture.
